MONSTERS IN MY MIND

Thrifted Polka Dot Blouse / Ribbon Bow Tie / Fringe Skirt c/o Aryamia / Sheer Trouser Socks Only ¢38 at Walmart! / Halloween Spider Ring / Urban Outfitters Pumps

I rode the bus for three hours (which was an adventure in itself!) to visit my friend Anatalia in Pasadena. She was babysitting her younger siblings and asked if I wanted to come keep her company. Her parents were out at a Halloween party and here we were, the two cool young thangs*, had nothing to do on a Saturday night and were stuck babysitting. Kind of lame, right? Well, yeah it kind of is lame but it was actually one hell of a night so you're WRONG! We had festive Halloween plates and we made pumpkin bread and sipped Sangria and it was awesome. Then the next day we traveled to the park so she could help me snap some pictures of this awesome skirt Aryamia sent me. As to be expected with the two of us though, we grew rambunctious and our photoshoot turned into action photography on trash cans and swings and trees and benches, anywhere. We were having a grand ol' time, laughing our heads off and being hooligans, when we realized the park was full of innocent little families and their children. I'm sure I accidentally flashed half the playground, but oops, I was in a tree so...

The skirt was sent to me by an awesome company called Aryamia. Their site is undergoing maitenance, but check back in a little while, because their stuff is so cute! They offer several bodycon pieces and clothing that is designed to accentuate the female form, which I am a serious fan of! Aryamia has so many pieces that can be used as serious staples in any wardrobe, such as nude maxi skirts and crop tops. They also carry a few pieces that are wild, like this red fringe skirt! I couldn't stop twirling around, I'm lucky to add such an awesome statement piece to my closet!

The shirt is thrifted, button up blouses are tricky for me, they don't always look too flattering on curvy ladies, but this one seems to fit just right. Perhaps it's because it's cropped short so there isn't extra material adding bulk when I tuck it in. I can never seem to find a bow tie I like, I prefer them long and girly, so I usually just opt for ribbon instead, it's cheap and easy! The socks are those little gumball stocking that they sell for only ¢38, can't pass on that! Since they're sheer, I folded them over to create an opaque cuff. The shoes are once again my favorite pair of basic black pumps. They're so stretched and I keep tripping, but I can't let such a great pair of shoes go!

*the fact that I used the word "thang" proves I am indeed not cool

My friend Anatalia is the greatest at everything and she did my make-up for these photos. She was inspired by this bad bitch, Brody Dalle of the old punk bandThe Distillers. I look a little more gothic than punk rock, but it's still a look I'm seriously in love with.

Anatalia not only did my make-up but she took all of these photos for me too! And she fed me brownie bites and chips and salsa. She's endlessly creative and always pushing me out of my bubble, I love that. So here are some pictures of that wonderful adorable girl as appreciation!
