DAY + NIGHT / HOLD ON

Thrifted Silk + Velvet Trimmed Floral Kimono / Forever 21 Cropped Floral Sweater / Forever 21 High-Waisted Disco Shorts / Thigh High Stockings / Urban Outfitters Pumps

I flew home to Colorado this past weekend and it was an awesome trip, it was so good to see my family and friends. I'd miss them like mad, and even though it had only been a month it felt like years. So much has changed, but I'm so very content. My mom, my sister Mandy, and I all spent a day in Denver shopping, grabbing burritos at a local joint called Illegal Petes, daydreaming over loft apartments that my Mom &Step-Dad could move into after my brother graduates next year, and we finished off the night with drinks and appetizers on the patio of one of our favorite cafe's. It was an absolutely perfect day.

Mandy and my Mom have been stuck with taking my Lookbook photos for years now, but it was easier to beg them this time because they had missed me :) My mom snapped these right as the sun was setting, and she was complaining that she didn't know what she was doing. I think that's exactly why the photos looks so awesome, they have life to them, I love the motion blur. She then used the flash to capture sharper images, even though that's considered a big no-no, but those photos looked pretty cool too actually! I like the raw feel of a night time snapshot with a bright flash. So I uploaded both sets of photos as is, no edits, because I love the untrained aesthetic they have.

The kimono is actually a robe, one of my first stellar thrift finds I made when I got to California. What can I say, I'm obsessed with night wear, always. My wardrobe is seriously lacking though, and my sister decided to clean out her closet this weekend which was good news for my own closet! The sweater and shorts were both hand downs from her. Ever since I watched Clueless last week I've been dying to wear some thigh high stockings! The shoes are my favorite heels ever, just a simple black pump. I've worn them so much though that they're stretched out, so it looks like I'm on the hunt for the next great black heel.
